Brandon and Amber celebrated their wedding on the beach in Southern Shores, North Carolina, surrounded by family and friends on a beautiful September evening.

Their ceremony took place right along the ocean, with a simple wooden arbor and the Atlantic as the backdrop. After the ceremony, we spent some time with their family and wedding party before turning our attention to portraits of the newlyweds.

And this was definitely a group that knew how to have fun! Once we had the traditional photographs, everyone loosened up pretty quickly, which gave us some great, energetic wedding-party photos and plenty of laughs.

With only an hour together, we packed a lot into a short amount of time and finished with some beautiful portraits of Brandon and Amber along the beach.

When I was growing up, my family would take vacations to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I remember body surfing in the waves, fishing off the piers, and building sand castles. As my life has unfolded, I have found myself lucky enough to live on the OBX with my wife, Amy, raising our young son James in the sand.

When you book your OBX wedding, it’s one of the few times during your life when your whole family comes together to join one another in celebration. I am a wedding photographer at the beach... I specialize in the immortalizing the celebration, love and new beginnings that happen on your day. My fun and relaxing style adds to the energy of the day without taking away from the stars of the show.

I have been photographing since 2001, and there are few backdrops as beautiful as our Outer Banks beaches.
